A sweet coming of age romance with no big surprises but plenty of real emotion. One of those books where you just love the characters so much you want to keep hanging out with them. Very satisfying.Product details

Bitter Fruit A Lesbian Romance edition by Lois Cloarec Hart Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Lois Cloarec Hart has shown again her great story telling talent. It is a slow dance which starts entirely on a wrong foot between Lauren, who is supposedly straight, and Jac, who is pursuing Lauren because of a dumb bet. The growing affection and chemistry is palpable, the characters are multidimensional and it is great to have a romance set in Canada. I esp. loved Lauren's family, puppies and all and the yellow VW. Lois superb writing skills are matched by equally brilliant editing. Well done!
This novel is bitter fruit! There is no excitement and very little romance. Intensely boring.
This was a very serious falling in love. Lauren had a ruff deal with Phil and his uncaring ways. I am glad that Jac and Laren made for each other and began a love that has bases to grow. It was a most entertaining book a good read.
Not for me
A lovely story!!!! Some authors just know how to keep you intrested.
This was a great quick read. What I found most enjoyable is that the characters don't immediately get the U-haul out after they first meet each other. There is some actual bonding that made the characters so much more relatable and made for a good story.
Two friends (Victoria & Jac) bet on whether the "charmer" between them and very single, alpha lesbian one (Jac) can seduce her friend's coworker (Lauren) -- a straight, engaged to be married friend -- over a month's time... the married straight friend (Victoria) takes that opportunity to force the "charmer" to spend a weekend of making love to her if she wins the bet... or to take her husband, Roger, to an ultra-exclusive sex club if she loses against Jac. the "charmer" (Jac) unexpectedly falls for the woman in pursuit (Lauren) and tries to keep the secret of the bet undiscovered... but fails. then it becomes up to Lauren if she wants to take a chance on love with Jac ... if she can trust her and her heart.
the premise of the book is bizarre... I simply found it odd that the married straight woman would ask her lesbian friend to take her away to the mountains for a weekend at the risk of her marriage and their friendship if she won the bet... then to select an engaged straight friend on top of that {perplexed}. I do not think I ever recovered from that shaky premise... but found the romance between Jac and Lauren enjoyable enough. Lukewarm on this one...
A sweet coming of age romance with no big surprises but plenty of real emotion. One of those books where you just love the characters so much you want to keep hanging out with them. Very satisfying.
